A motorist shot at in a road rage incident last week in Burleson does not appear to have been injured.
It remains unclear exactly what may have led to a pair of motorists to become upset with one another in the 600 block of NE Alsbury Boulevard at about 5:25 p.m. Sept. 22.
"It appears maybe one pulled in front of the other and that person got upset," Burleson Police Det. Wes Routson said. "They pulled into a parking lot and exchanged words."
The two men stopped to discuss the matter in an area about a block away from Pinnacle Bank and Taylor Elementary School, near Hemphill Road.
"They both got out brandishing weapons," Routson said. "That's when one of them shot in the other's general direction."
Police don't believe anyone was struck by the ammunition round.
A complaint was filed with police by the man who shot the round, Routson said, and police never heard from the other subject. Police contacted area hospitals, but were unable to locate anyone with an unexplained gunshot wound.
It is presently a case with a complainant, but without a victim, Routson said. Without the other subject's version of the story, police are unable to charge either motorist.
"We don't have a victim," Routson said.
One the gun was discharged the occupant of the other vehicle sped away, the complainant reported.
"This is not the way we want to see differences settled," Routson said. "People can get killed from something like this. One of them could have altered the other's life permanently, if not both of their lives."
