Saturday's Founders Day celebration scheduled for Old Town Burleson was cancelled over concens about the weather BURLESON STAR/COURTESY

The City of Burleson just announced on its Facebook page that Saturday's Founders Day celebration has been cancelled because of weather. The event will not be rescheduled.
Also posted on the Facebook page was this note. "We appreciate your patience and understanding."
Founders Day celebrations started in 1992.
The event was the brainchild of Neal Jones and Jim and Betty Bailey with assistance from the City of Burleson.
The purpose of Founders to was to recreate what parties the original founders of Burleson would hold. At those events, people would come together to trade goods, watch picture shows, play music, and join together as a community.
