The city of Keene and the Keene Police and Fire Departments will host the annual Starfest celebration from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 31 at the intersection of Hillcrest and Mockingbird streets in Keene.
The alternative to Halloween trick or treating is free to the community and features a color guard, the Southwestern Adventist University Acrobat Team, and the Mikayla Griffin Band.
With a fall festival flair, the Starfest includes activities such as train rides, hay rides, many interactive game booths, karaoke, face-painting, free candy, a climbing wall, bounce houses and stick horse races. All activities are free except for the food booths.
Participants are asked to please refrain from the use of scary costumes.
Keene police estimate that about 2,000 people attended last year’s event.
