A fashion show with a keynote address from a local business woman will highlight the Power of Heels luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 29, at First Baptist Church of Burleson, 317 W. Ellison St.
Power of Heels is the women’s division of the Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce.
Julie Roberts, owner of The Cottage Market, will provide a keynote address concerning the challenges she faces and the opportunities she has as an independent elegant and upscale retailer in Old Town Burleson.
Following the presentation will be a runway fashion show featuring apparel from local boutiques, Adams Tack and Pink Chandelier.
A fee of $20 for chamber members, $25 for non-members and $10 for students will be charged. Tickets may be purchased through burlesonchamber.com.
After a long career as a business executive, Roberts opened her 3,000 square-foot store in 2014, featuring classic accent furniture, home décor, kitchen items, gifts for wedding registries, gourmet foods and jewelry. She travels to New York, Las Vegas and Dallas to shop for the store.
Power of Heels is designed to empower women in business through professional and personal development and initiatives. The group showcases women-owned and operated businesses, create opportunities for women to connect and promote women in the workplace.
